+ I received a letter from Watertown Regional Medical Center informing me that you are leaving the Johnson Creek and Lake Mills Clinics. What’s going on?
Please click here for more information.
+ Why did you leave WRMC?
That’s a great question. In short, I wanted to be the change I wanted to see in the world.
Many physicians have chosen to forego the challenges of running a small business in return for more stability and a higher income. But I think something has been lost in that transition – the direct and intimate connection to our patients. Medicine is a service industry. We sell relationships, not health. When you remove yourself from the business, it is harder to develop the relationships that allow us to provide you with the best care possible.
It is also imperative that physicians are in control of the decisions that impact the care provided to their patients. This includes equipment, electronic health records and personnel. And in some large corporations, that ability is lost. When we lose our ability to make those decisions, we lose the ability to truly care for and build trusting relationships our patients.

+ How will Three Oaks Health coordinate with my other healthcare providers?
As a primary care provider, staying in touch with your specialists is our priority. It is how we integrate all of your health concerns when considering your care.
Dr. Milford remains a member of the Watertown Physicians Hospital Organization (PHO) and works and communicates with the same network of providers.
Our new electronic health system will also allow for improved integrated record sharing with organizations outside of Watertown Regional Medical Center.
+ Will I need to request my health records for your clinic?
You do not need to request records.
Once we meet, we will decide together what records we need to access and handle that on our end.
Dr. Milford remains a member of the Watertown Physicians Hospital Organization (PHO) and will continue to work and communicate with the same network of providers. Our new electronic health system will also allow for improved integrated record sharing.
+ Which hospital does Three Oaks Health care refer patients to?
The first determinant for your hospital care is (unfortunately) your insurance provider. The second is your preference.
Dr. Milford’s practice remains part of the Watertown Physicians Hospital Organization (PHO) and refers many patients to Watertown Regional Medical Center. However, decisions about where to seek care are made jointly after we discuss quality and access specific to your needs.
Please contact us if you have any further questions.
